'SEE YOU MORNING' 131 Mismatched Lives

Although Grace had allowed Hunter to enter her heart, she was still unsure if she should have done so. She looked hesitantly into Hunter’s eyes, hoping to find the shadow of Theodore from days gone by.
Suddenly, Hunter’s playful grin froze, his eyes widened, and his body stiffened. Grace had no way of knowing that someone in another dimension had kicked him with all their strength right in his vital spot.
Lin Yuhui delivered the kick, then grabbed Hunter by the neck and pulled him out of his body, wrapping his arm around him in a rear naked choke.
At that moment, Lin Yuhui suddenly realized a problem. Even if he beat Hunter into submission this time, there was no telling when he would revert to his old ways or rebel. It would be better to scare him into obedience. With that thought, Lin Yuhui threw the barely conscious Hunter to the ground. He imagined himself as Satan himself, searched through Hunter’s memories for the wrongs he had committed, picked out a few of the most serious ones, and stated them briefly in a deep, authoritative voice. Then he warned him,
“You have committed countless evils. Your time has come. I have come to take your soul.”
Hunter lay prostrate on the ground, staring up at the terrifying demon standing before him. The coward immediately cowered, crying and shouting,
“Spare me! Please spare me!”
Lin Yuhui chuckled to himself. That was exactly what he had been waiting for. He couldn’t actually kill Hunter, but what was he supposed to say next? Tell him he wanted to take over his body? No, that would destroy the authority of the great demon of hell. A brilliant idea struck him.
“If you want to live, so be it. Originally, I was going to take you away and let your brother’s soul occupy your body. He still has a mission in life and unfinished business in the mortal world. If you do not hinder his mission, I will let you share this body with him.”
“Ah, thank you… May I ask what your name is, sir?”
“It’s gone. I’m your brother,” Lin Yuhui said, not bothering to explain further. He tied Hunter’s limbs into a knot and tossed him aside, then quickly stretched himself into Hunter’s body. He felt his muscles stiffen, still holding the same position as before. Grace was looking at him in confusion, and Hunter’s twelve-inch tool was still inside her, though it had gone somewhat limp.
Grace’s red, tear-streaked eyes scanned him up and down, her mind racing to compare his features to those of her late husband. Her fear and anxiety finally became too much to contain, and she uttered a single word,
“You…”
Continue what had started or leave? It was a dilemma that left Lin Yuhui torn. The impulse Grace had felt to seek solace for her inner pain had been ignited by Hunter’s deception and deliberate seduction. If he walked away now, he would undoubtedly inflict double damage on her: the pain of losing her husband multiplied by the pain of betraying his memory. But if he continued, he did not love her. Although she seemed nice enough, his heart already belonged to another—Liana. No matter where she was, she was the unshakable lingering attachment in his heart.
Watching Hunter slowly recover from his stiffness, Grace asked hesitantly,
“What’s wrong with you?” Her voice came out squeezed from her throat, trembling slightly. Shame and guilt were building and churning in her heart.
Sensing the changes in Grace’s emotions, Lin Yuhui had no time to hesitate. He gritted his teeth and admitted,
“I’m Theodore. I’ve possessed Hunter’s body.”
“Ah, really?” Grace was on the verge of tears.
Lin Yuhui quickly searched her memories for fragments of her life with her late husband to dispel her doubts.
“It’s me, my little pink rabbit,” Lin Yuhui said softly through Hunter’s body, caressing her cheek to soothe her fragile emotional balance.
“Oh, Theodore,” Grace whispered the man’s name, then closed her eyes, allowing the other man’s comfort to wash over her.
And Lin Yuhui, in the most intimate way, comforted the deep wound in a woman’s heart, while his own mind was filled with thoughts of another woman.
Hunter’s twelve-inch tool was indeed effective. Although it still hurt a little from the kick he had received earlier, and had gone limp for a while, it was now responding to Grace’s deep, warm embrace. Lin Yuhui, who had not touched a woman in decades, quickly found his rhythm. He held Grace tightly, filling the emptiness left by her husband’s death with his sincere and abundant care. Even though she was not the woman he loved, his compassion and pity locked his attention onto her like a hook and chain.
Tender care and honest acceptance can always work miracles in saving those who have been hurt by love. Under Lin Yuhui’s direction, he used Hunter’s body to perfectly erase the impact of Grace’s loss, making it almost as if nothing had happened at all.
“Theodore, how did you come back?” Grace asked, resting her head on Hunter’s arm.
Lin Yuhui’s mind was still lingering on their recent intimacy. Suddenly asked this question, he had to quickly make up a convincing story.
“Ah, the Grim Reaper made a mistake. He took the wrong person. But I can’t go back to my own body anymore, so I had to come back in Hunter’s.”
“Oh, did you see the Grim Reaper?”
“Ah, no. I think that’s what happened.”
“Oh, I thought he had told you himself,” Grace replied calmly, seeming not to care what answer he gave.
Lin Yuhui knew his lie was not very good. His gaze drifted past Grace’s cheek to the crescent moon rising over the desert. Its pale yellow curve lifted a streak of greenish-brown, orange, and red clouds, hanging over the endless expanse of sand and stone. His heart was filled with peace.
Had he done the right thing? Probably. But deep down, he couldn’t help but feel guilty towards Liana. Should he let go of the past and start a new life? The sight of the crescent moon over the desert seemed to be speaking his innermost thoughts.
“Theodore, what are you looking at?” Grace asked, turning her head to look out the window at the distant scenery. Yesterday, that lonely moon had been a symbol of her being left alone in the world. Today, it had become a messenger of love crossing from the underworld to the mortal realm, rekindling her hope for life.
The cold moonlight fell on Grace’s cheek, but her heart was already burning hot. The return of her lost love had made the past few days feel like a dreamlike rollercoaster ride.
After a moment, she turned her face back to Hunter, looked into his eyes and asked,
“You won’t leave me again this time, will you?” As she spoke, she stroked his cheek reluctantly.
This was exactly the question Lin Yuhui had been dreading. He had intervened in this chain of cause and effect out of an excess of compassion, and now it seemed he was going to be trapped here. He had no idea if he could occupy Hunter’s body for long, after all, he had never done anything like this before.
“Theodore, don’t leave me,” Grace said, her anxious heart unable to wait for his answer. She cupped his cheeks in her hands and pressed him.
“I won’t. I will never leave you again.”
