'SEE YOU MORNING' 127 Family Dinner
Lin Yuhui followed the source of the sound and arrived at a bedroom suite. It turned out to be an elderly couple leaning on each other.
“My little Theodore,” the old woman sobbed and muttered.
“George, I don’t even dare to sit at the table again,” she glanced at her husband, wiping her tears as she spoke.
“Jillian, don’t be like that. Let him rest in peace in heaven,” her husband comforted her.
“Hmm.”
“It’s his fate.”
With that, her husband George stood up, pulling his wife’s hand.
“Time for dinner,” he said, and they walked together toward the dining room.
Oh, it was already dinner time. Lin Yuhui couldn’t help but realize he had lost track of time. He glanced out the window; the sunlight was still strong here. He decided to wait until full nightfall before leaving.
With nothing else to do, he followed the elderly couple to the dining room and noticed that the others were already waiting for them. One person, dressed as a servant, stood by, ready to serve the meal, and caught his attention.
It was a male, tall and slender, with soft features. He looked like an ordinary person, but Lin Yuhui could see through his body—he was a robot, likely an AI‑driven household appliance, though his appearance was no different from a human’s.
Drawing closer, he observed that the body swayed slightly, dynamically adjusting to maintain balance like a human. His skin seemed to be some synthetic material, with the luster and elasticity of human skin, but without any body hair, as if the material would not attract dust or hold stains. Lin Yuhui wondered if the robot could bathe and clean itself.
As he pondered, a wailing sound came from the dining table again. It was Jillian, who, after taking her seat, saw the empty chair next to her daughter‑in‑law and burst into tears, overwhelmed by memories.
Her daughter glanced at her younger brother and quickly said, “Hunter, you go sit in that seat. Don’t leave it empty—it upsets Mom.”
Hunter shuffled over from the corner of the table, sat down, pulled his chair closer to his sister‑in‑law, and then whispered in a very low voice, “Grace, I lost some money. Do you have any…?”
Grace pretended not to hear. Jillian might have really not heard; she rambled on, “Grace, my good daughter…” but then looked at her daughter‑in‑law and began crying again.
“Mom, don’t be so sad. Theodore will be uneasy if he sees you like this in heaven.”
“Mm hm hm, you’re right, my dear daughter. I’ll listen to you.”
Ah. Finally, some peace for his ears. Lin Yuhui smelled the white wine in the glass; he could almost see the grapes that made it, bathed in sunlight, nourished by rain, the fragrance carrying the weight of years. But he didn’t like the old lady’s constant sobbing—it spoiled the mood.
When he turned his attention back to the people at the table, Hunter’s movements as he sidled up to Grace were somewhat lewd. Grace didn’t even glance at Hunter beside her. The atmosphere was thick with disgust, except for his mother, who felt fine because this youngest son was also her son, and after the death of her eldest son, she had transferred all her hopes for her sons onto this youngest one. But his father was clear‑headed; his contempt was undisguised.
Originally, Jillian’s daughter Eleanor had been sitting across from her mother, but later she had to leave her husband and sit beside her mother to comfort her. The family ate normally, except for Hunter, who drank heavily until his father couldn’t stand it anymore and cursed him, only then did he put down the bottle. It seemed his stomach was completely immune to high‑proof alcohol—could he be an animal reborn? After many twists and turns, they finally finished the meal together and dispersed to their own places. The daughter and son‑in‑law went home, the others saw them off. Only Hunter left alone, not walking with them. Not only his behavior, Lin Yuhui also noticed other differences about Hunter: his aura and chakras were different from others’, unsteady in light and dark, as if he was full of restlessness and agitation.
Following him away from the dining room to his own room, Lin Yuhui saw him pacing and looking around, as if searching for something—busy but aimless. Finally, when he sat down, Lin Yuhui noticed that he was holding smoking paraphernalia. He lit it, adding his own substance while smoking. In that beautiful mansion, he filled the whole room with swirling smoke. Ha ha, so this Hunter was an addict; no wonder his father looked down on him so much.
After being lost in the smoke in a drunken stupor, Hunter perked up again, looked refreshed, and walked out of his room. Lin Yuhui followed behind and could see his dirty lower chakras flickering restlessly. So this guy wasn’t just a drunkard, gambler, and addict; he was also a lecher. Truly equipped with all five vices.
While following Hunter through the corridor, Lin Yuhui realized that he seemed to be getting lighter and lighter. He kept floating upward involuntarily, sometimes even passing through the ceiling to the floor above without realizing it. Moreover, his control over time was becoming increasingly jumpy and blurry.
He began to feel anxious. Was he really going to have his soul scattered? Did he really need to find a body to contain his own soul?
Lost in thought, he had already followed Hunter to Grace’s room. She was standing on her balcony, looking into the distance. The wind at the foot of the mountain was somewhat chaotic, blowing her long hair astray.
Hunter quietly approached, stood behind her, wrapped his arms around her waist, and pressed his mouth and nose against the hair on the back of her neck.
At first, Grace stroked his hands with her own, but she soon woke from her daze. She knew that was not her husband, and her husband would never return.
“Let go of me, Hunter,” Grace whispered, turning her head.
But how could that lecher listen to her? Hunter tightened his grip around her waist, began to kiss her neck, and rubbed against her from behind.
“Let go of me, Hunter!” Grace shouted angrily, trying to pull his arms away with her own hands, but how could her strength be enough? Lin Yuhui watched from the side, feeling her anger and shame.
She twisted her body, trying to use her weight to break free from Hunter’s hold, and kept yelling, “Let go of me, you scum, you degenerate!” As she shouted, she adjusted her shoulders, trying to separate his locked arms, but it had no effect. So she struggled and cursed, “The soil on your brother’s coffin lid isn’t even dry yet.”
But such ethical reproach could not stop a beast driven by lust. Lin Yuhui watched helplessly, his heart willing but his hands unable to help. Even though she was another man’s widow, he didn’t want her to be violated by a scumbag like Hunter. But how could he help?
Thinking, he approached Grace and noticed the high heels on her feet. In an instant, he realized that she could raise her left leg and stomp on Hunter’s foot with the heel.
Just then, Grace also thought of this method. She stomped hard on his foot. As he bent over in pain, reflexively reaching for his foot with both hands, Grace quickly turned and fled.
Hunter didn’t chase after her. He looked sullenly at her back as she ran away, then finally remembered to take off his shoe and see how his foot was.
