Synopsis

Centuries after a devastating nuclear exchange, war rages on between the Coalition, the militant force that ended the old world, and the Republic of New Columbia, who have attempted to build a new one.

Anya is at a crossroads. Once a deadly Coalition Operative, then a covert agent for the Republic, she finds herself disavowed and short on allies after an unauthorized, high-stakes expedition into the heart of enemy territory goes tragically awry.

Back in New Dallas, she faces court-martial — or worse. Her partner is dead. A partially rehabilitated assassin has vowed to kill her, her best friend has forgotten her, and someone is having her followed.

Then Shaw, a charismatic stranger with access to impossible technology, recruits her for a new mission: seek out and destroy the Coalition’s secret weapon, end the war, and become a hero.

But as the stakes grow higher and the job carries them to the ends of the earth and back, Anya begins to fear that Shaw and his crusade are not what they seem…and that she might be the only one who can stop him.
