Episode 30: Silent Eyes
Quantum Arena.
Ddakji Playground.
Another morning began. Children moved freely through the village.
Some returned to Ddakji. Others wandered toward spinning tops. Several gathered around the marble field.
No one was told where to go. Every choice was their own.
Jinwoo smiled.
“I think I’m getting better.”
Hanul shook his head.
“No. You’ve just started paying attention.”
“To what?”
“The person in front of you.”
Nearby, two children faced one another. Neither attacked immediately. They waited. Watching. Searching.
Then—Smack!
The Ddakji flipped. Cheers erupted.
Darin laughed.
“That was amazing.”
Soyeon quietly spoke.
“They weren’t watching the paper. They were watching each other.”
[ARENA OBSERVATION LOG]
Prediction before action increasing.
Behavioral analysis increasing.
Social interaction continuing.
Growth continuing.
Far beyond Earth, the blue planet slowly rotated. The silent figures remained.
One finally spoke.
“They continue to exceed expectations.”
Another answered.
“The Superintelligence has altered the outcome.”
Silence.
A different figure looked away from Earth.
“Not yet. They’re still incomplete.”
No one replied. Only the stars remained silent.
Farther away, another presence watched the meeting itself. Hidden. Listening. Waiting.
Its voice was barely a whisper.
“They’re wasting time. If they continue to observe… they’ll be too late.”
No answer came.
Below, inside Quantum Arena, children continued laughing.
They knew nothing of the eyes watching from beyond the stars.
And above them, the silent observers continued to wait.
