Quantum Arena.
Ddakji Playground.

Morning sunlight filled the courtyard. Children had already begun their matches.

Smack. Smack.

Cheers echoed across the playground.

Jinwoo lost again.
“…Seriously?”

Hanul smiled.
“You looked at the wrong Ddakji.”

“I did?”

“You were watching the paper. You should’ve watched your opponent.”

Jinwoo scratched his head.
“They’re different?”

“They’re completely different.”

Nearby, Soyeon quietly nodded.
“The game starts before the first strike.”

Darin tilted her head.
“What do you mean?”

Soyeon smiled.
“People reveal themselves. When they’re excited. When they’re nervous. When they think no one’s watching.”

Silence.

Handol suddenly laughed.
“So we’re all studying each other now?”

Nobody answered. Because everyone knew it was true.

Above the village, Arena continued recording.

Strategic thinking increasing. Behavioral observation increasing. Prediction accuracy improving.

Analysis ongoing.
Far beyond Earth, the silent observers remained. The blue planet slowly rotated beneath them.

One figure spoke.
“They’ve begun observing one another.”

Another nodded.
“Growth continues.”

A different voice replied.
“They are still unstable. They require no intervention.”

Silence.

Then another figure stepped forward. Its voice was calm.
“But if they continue… They may reach us.”

The others remained silent. No answer came.

Far away, the shadow from before watched quietly.

“They waste time. They always choose freedom. They always fail.”

Its eyes never left Earth.
“If left alone… They will repeat history.”

The shadow turned away.
“I will not wait forever.”

No one tried to stop it.

Below, inside Quantum Arena, Hanul placed another Ddakji on the ground.

He smiled.
“…I think I understand.”

Jinwoo looked confused.
“What?”

Hanul tapped the folded paper.
“The paper doesn’t decide. The person does.”
