Ch 27: The Protestation; A Door Knock

~
(David)

Applying the Padiel cipher to the paragraph with “Angel 2/31” renders an obviously meaningful and deliberately intended result.

The passage:

“Using this simple knowledge, everyone can tell the horrible and evil truth. Pity the reader who out of temerity doesn’t even seek, summon and trust the Almighty. Seek truth and inform the oblivious masses now.”

resolves to:

usetheprotestation

Use the Protestation.

I know what this refers to.

In the introduction to T-1499, Trithemius included a strenuous “Protestation” of his own Christian orthodoxy, written with the rigour of a lawyer anticipating every possible objection. It reads:

“Therefore I say and openly before Almighty God, before whom absolutely nothing can be hidden, and openly before Jesus Christ, his only begotten son who will judge the living and the dead, in truth I say, I swear and I protest: Each and everything that I have said in this work, or am about to say, and all the properties, methods, figures, operations, traditions, conventions, formations, inventions, foundations, modifications and alterations of this art or science and everything which pertains to its contemplation, contrivance, acquisition, operation and practice, whether in part or in whole, and everything which is contained within this volume of ours, relies upon true, catholic and natural principles and each and everything is done in accordance with God in good conscience and without injury to the Christian faith, preserving the integrity of Ecclesiastic tradition, without any superstition, without idolatry, without any pact with malign spirits whether explicit or implicit, without any incense-burning, adoration, veneration, worship, sacrifice or offerings to demons and free from all fault and sin whether venial or mortal, and that each and everything is done in accordance with truth, rectitude, sincerity and purity since the knowledge of this invention and its application to good ends is not indecent for a man who is wise and a good and faithful Christian. For I am also a Christian and voluntarily bound to monastic practice, and I desire to live and abide not otherwise than as befits a true Christian and professed monk under the rule of the divine father Benedict. I received that same Catholic faith while in my cradle according to the tradition of the Holy Roman Church, and I was baptized in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. This faith, in accordance with the universal Church of all Christians, I hold, I believe and so long as I live I shall with the help of God keep it always and firmly inviolate in my heart, in my speech and in my work, and it is my intention never to deviate from it at any time. Far be it from me either to learn or teach anything that is contrary to Christian faith and purity, offensive to holy morals or adverse to our professed rule. I fear God and I have sworn myself to his worship from which I shall never be separated in life and, as I trust, in death.”

This seems to be an unambiguous statement of pre-Reformation Christian orthodoxy. Perhaps it’s surprising, coming from someone accused of black magic, summoning demons, and remembered as the “Black Abbot.” Is it a cover text for something hidden?

What next? How do I “Use the Protestation”? Do I need to continue applying the Padiel cipher to the rest of the JFoxe text? Or is Padiel’s purpose fulfilled?

What about that other paragraph referring to numbered angels? The paragraph preceding the “Angel 2/31” paragraph. I apply Padiel to the first several words of:

“Dear reader, listen to the Eleventh Angel of Truth and Purity; if silence falls, call the Seventh Angel; if that too is mute, seek the Fourth, failing which the Second. God’s good Angels have deeper knowledge of each dark Conspiracy, because from God nothing is hidden.”

And I get nonsense. Or at least I hope it’s nonsense, as there is no clue about what this could mean:

dltatpscsitmtftgadodbgi

I apply Padiel to the first several words of the JFoxe text starting right at the beginning, and as expected, I get another string of nonsense letters. It seems unlikely that the Padiel cipher would be used to resolve the entire JFoxe text, because Padiel, which is a kind of key, is identified directly within the document. I feel there would have to be another required step before getting to the main solution. But is there a piece of the JFoxe text to which Padiel is meant to be applied? In that case, how would I find it? It’s a needle in a haystack.

So I focus again on the first part of the valediction, which itself contains words and references to numbers that possibly refer to a pattern of some kind.

This could mean so many things. T-1499 certainly has the necessary numbers of “angels” to satisfy these references to the “Eleventh Angel”, “Seventh Angel”, and so on. Am I supposed to apply each of those “spirit ciphers” to the Protestation? But Trithemius himself wrote the Protestation. So using Trithemius’s own keys would not allow for any input from or connection to JFoxe. So that makes no sense.

But the words “God’s good Angels have deeper knowledge of each dark Conspiracy” interests me. Each dark “Conspiracy”, with a capital “C”.

The JFoxe text has headings which number the “Conspiracy Facts” as follows:

Conspiracy Fact #228 – Big Data Breach False Flag Attack
Conspiracy Fact #118 – Flying Invisible Cameras Everywhere
Conspiracy Fact #321 – MKULTRA: CIA and Medical Orgs Experimented on Humans
Conspiracy Fact #186 – Pharma, Chemical, Tobacco Companies Hid Dangerous Effects
Conspiracy Fact #276 – Operation Northwood- Govt Planned Domestic False Flag Terror Attacks
Conspiracy Fact # 93 – Interdimensional Shapeshifting Reptilians Run the World
Conspiracy Fact #315 – Tuskegee Syphilis Study: Human Experimentation on Black Men
Conspiracy Fact # 82 – Earth is Flat
Conspiracy Fact #131 – Deep Underground UFO Bases in Antarctica
Conspiracy Fact # 22 – “Social Media” Literally Created By “Total Info Awareness” Program of Intel Agencies
Conspiracy Fact #204 – UFOs are Demons
Conspiracy Fact # 68 – Operation Mockingbird: Intel Agencies’ Infiltration of All News/Entertainment
Conspiracy Fact #163 – Space is Fake
Conspiracy Fact # 98 – Military Sprayed Bio-Chemical Weapons In San Fran and NY City
Conspiracy Fact #382 – Operation Paperclip – WWII War Criminals Recruited As US Scientists
Conspiracy Fact #367 – COINTELPRO: Disruption of Domestic Dissident Political Groups
Conspiracy Fact # 83 – Snowden Revelations: NSA Domestic Total Surveillance
Conspiracy Fact #295 – Govt Repeatedly Armed, Funded “Rebels” Who Later Became “Terrorists”

Wouldn’t it be too obvious if this were the way to resolve the Entire JFoxe text, or some part of it? If the ciphertext itself contained the key, wouldn’t the surveillance algos pick up on that, be alerted and then resolve the whole ciphertext through brute force or frequency analysis?

But the Protestation is not contained in the JFoxe text. And I only stumbled on the Protestation because I personally recognized the obscure reference to “Angel 2 of 31.” I recognized it only because of a foggy memory of Trithemius, which was somewhat confirmed by my discovery that T-1499 was the text that recently got people arrested and was purged from the feed.

The Protestation and another cipher, that must be the trick. The text refers the recipient to the Protestation, and provides rules for deciphering or picking out another message from within it. Possibly another cipher. That would make sense. It’s a multi-layer cipher.

“Listen to the Eleventh Angel…if silence falls, call the Seventh…if that too is mute, seek the Fourth, failing which the Second. God’s good Angels have deeper knowledge of each dark Conspiracy…”

This is literally a “fallback” rule. If 11, pick the 11th. If not 11, pick the 7th. if not 7, pick the 4th. If not 4, pick the 2nd.

How many words are contained in the Protestation? I have to count them manually, no neurotech, no notes.

I start counting, realize my mind is wandering, and I have to start over.

I’m counting. I get into a rhythm of counting by two’s and noting each time I get to another “10”.

2, 4, 6, 8, 10.

2, 4, 6, 8, 20.

2, 4, 6, 8, 30.

2, 4, 6, 8, 30.

2, 4, 6, 8, 40.

Or was I at 50?

Damn it. The sleep deprivation is affecting my concentration. I get lost in the numbers. Start over. I have to keep trying. All I’m doing is counting the fucking numbers.

Maybe if I close my eyes for a few minutes I can rest.

I’m awakened within minutes by the familiar electric buzzing sensation rising in my chest. I can’t even take a fucking nap. I’d have to go to the park to take a nap. Impossible right now; I have to work. Cold shower. That’ll get me going.

The sensory overload of freezing cold water helps a bit. My nervous system is distracted by the intense sensation.

Okay. Let’s keep trying.

2, 4, 6, 8, 10.

2, 4, 6, 8, 20.

2, 4, 6, 8, 30…

…the Protestation has four hundred and one words. And I’m encouraged to see that all of the “Conspiracy” numbers fall within that range, between one and four hundred and one.

I sit back, lean my head back for a moment. I know this has to be it. Drifting off…no. Wake up.

Let’s go. I have to index the words of the Protestation.

I’ll do it in my mind only. I can manually count through the words of the Protestation. I don’t know whether to count front to back or back to front, but I’ll start front to back.

Now my head is burning, my eyes are starting to burn. It’s so frustrating, enraging.

Okay. The first word is “Therefore”, so that’s one. The next is “I”, so that’s 2.

I’ll identify each relevant word based on the Conspiracy numbers. The number of each Conspiracy corresponds to the word I pick out.

Then use the fallback rule described as “God’s good angels”. Starting with 11, and if there is no 11, then 7, and so on. But how?

I’m hoping, blindly, that this fallback rule will let me pick out a letter from each numerically identified word. Take the 11th letter, or if there are not 11, take the 7th, and so on. I hope, I really feel, that this will give me something.

I’m startled by a chime that breaks the silence.

It’s my door intercom. I can’t remember the last time I heard that sound.

My heart drops, my stomach knots and tries to jump out of my mouth. I feel the blood drain from my face.

I’m already caught. They’re here.

How would a normal person answer the door in this situation?

I look at my display. It shows ancient religious and occult texts, and a list of conspiracy theories. It’s nothing contraband for someone of my vocation. But I know that what I’m doing with it is transgressive, and ultimately subversive.

I knew this was the risk I was taking. They’ll take me away to…where? I don’t even know what happens to people who are caught. Caught doing what? They can’t see inside my mind. Or can they?

I’m doing nothing illegal.

The door chimes again. I realize I’m just sitting here holding my breath and thinking these racing thoughts.

The logical thing to do is just answer it. Don’t start denying things with no accusation, don’t answer questions, don’t even talk. Just let whatever is going to happen, happen.

I answer the intercom from my workstation. “Yes, who is it?”

I think that sounded quite natural.
